Here we go!

I leave tomorrow for Atlanta, GA.  I will be assisting a youth group from Indiana on an Inner City missions trip.  This will actually be the first in country trip I have been on but I am sure that God will open my eyes to the harvest that is here in the states, specifically in our cities.

I really don't know what to expect, but I know God will change me and cause growth in me that will be at the least uncomfortable but most likely painful.  However, I do know that He is faithful to see us through all we will encounter.

I think I am most excited to see how God will open the eyes of the students on this trip.  So often we just drive by need without being moved by it.  It doesn't matter if you live in a small town or in one of the nations largest cities, there is need everywhere.  Many of these student may never have seen anything like an inner-city or the very real dangers that their peers face by just going to school.

God, faithful God, please give us the strength to meet that need.  Give us the love and humility of Christ and allow all who we encouter to see Your  Son and not us.  Please help me to see outside of myself and my own uncomfortableness.  Please help me to mimic Christ, who didn't come to be served but to serve.

With an anxious and excited heart I await Your answers to my prayers.

Why Not?

I saw my good friend Dusty on here and thought, "why not?".

I don't have any crazy stuff happening here, but I love ministering to God's faithful.  Is there any more rewarding thing to watch people grow in Christ and know that in some small way you had a part in that?  To see students go from barely understanding who this Jesus guy is, to surrendering their lives, their will, their futures to Him.

Dusty, thanks for the invite to come to this great place of Carthage, MO six years ago.  I am grateful everyday that my family, Cel and Caden (and don't forget Chance) are a part of this beautiful body of believers.  Thank you Jesus for calling me to such a place.  Thank you for the friends you have blessed me with.

I am so grateful that God is truly all that we need to be filled and fulfilled.

Lord, please make me what You need me to be.  Change me! Teach me!
